ABOUT COMMUNITY SCHOOLS CORPS
The NYC Community Schools Corps, an Operation AmeriCorps program launched in partnership between NYC Service and the NYC Department of Education, places corps members into Community Schools in high-need communities to serve as mentors, reduce absenteeism, and boost parent involvement.
Community Schools support the social, emotional, physical, and academic needs of students by offering a coordinated approach to increasing opportunities for young people and improving the academic performance of students through partnerships among principals, parents, teachers, and community-based organizations (CBOs).
