ABOUT THIS INITIATIVE:   

In recognition of the important role that board members play in supporting the work of nonprofits, NYC Service partnered with United Way of New York City in 2009 to launch BoardServeNYC.

BoardServeNYC looks to further build the capacity of nonprofits in New York City by connecting them to a pool of prospective board members. 

During this year, we look to accomplish the following:

• Engage more New Yorkers in Board Service and Nonprofit Development

• Continue promoting successful board matches
• Engage more nonprofits in revamping their boards
• Revaluate current programs to make them more sustainable and self-sufficient
