About this initiative
NYC Service Legal Outreach provides free legal support for New Yorkers through volunteer attorneys, law students, paralegals, and others. These volunteers help New Yorkers gain access to justice through various programs. The programs that NYC Service and our partners offer are:
- Foreclosure prevention and intervention through the City Bar Justice Center and the New York Bar Association
- Housing court resolution through the Resolution Assistance Program
- Immigration and naturalization through CUNY Citizenship Now!
- Consumer debt resolution through the Civil Legal Advice and Resource Office (CLARO)
The programs above look to engage a wide range of citizens with knowledge about the justice system to help all of our citizens. Access to justice in foreclosure, housing, immigration, and consumer debt are the priorities for this initiative.
