Requirements
To become an Volunteer Ombudsman, all it takes is 36 hours of certification training and a willingness to give four hours of your time per week at a facility near your home or workplace for at least one year. Ombudsmen are expected to be available by phone to receive cases that are reported to the program's office. They are also expected to attend at least four meetings per year for the purpose of ongoing training.
