Help Seniors as a Volunteer Receptionist

Riverdale Senior Services, Inc (RSS) is a multi-purpose, non-profit agency, funded in part by the NYC Department for the Aging. Our mission is to promote the physical, intellectual, social and emotional well being of older adults in the Northwest Bronx. RSS’s programs and services take place at a community facility and are designed to encourage and enable seniors to continue to live independently, with dignity, in their own homes. Volunteers play an integral, important role in the everyday operation of the center and they become part of the organization’s team. They have the opportunity to interact with the vibrant, engaging membership of adults, ranging in age from 60 - 100. RSS is presently recruiting volunteers to assist in our busy and friendly office, to answer phones, greet new members and have a variety of clerical responsibilities. Volunteers with special skills can also be utilized in running activities and classes. Volunteers can be members or non-members and can be of any age. All volunteers must be able to answer phones in a professional manner, write neatly and be willing to do simple clerical work. Riverdale Senior Services offers a friendly and supportive atmosphere.
