Housing Works Thrift Shops seek volunteer sales associates!

If you love helping people find that perfect thrift-store treasure, or you want a chance to give back to your community while gaining some great retail experience, help us in one of our nine upscale thrift shops located throughout the city! We are looking for dynamic and friendly people to run the register and back counter, assist in the fitting rooms, refill and straighten up racks, and help the staff with a wide variety of projects. Qualified volunteers possess the ability to communicate respectfully and effectively with staff, customers, and other volunteers. You should also have a passion for good organization and a willingness to take on new challenges! We have stores in Brooklyn Heights, Tribeca, SoHo, the West Village, Gramercy, Chelsea, Upper East Side, Upper West Side, and Yorkville. Our warehouse in Long Island City is also seeking volunteers. Volunteers must commit to one four-hour shift per week for a minimum of six months. We depend on our volunteers. Being a nonprofit means we have very little staff to run our busy stores. You are our lifeline!
