The Inwood House Mentoring Program recognizes that teenagers are at the critical stage of becoming independent while making decisions regarding their future. Mentors are responsible, caring, patient adults, age 21+, who commit to a one year minimum relationship with a young person. Additionally, mentors must: demonstrate an ability to consider the special needs of the youth we serve; be able to commit to weekly contact with their mentee and participate in periodic mentoring events; agree to participate in monthly match supervision with the Mentoring Coordinator; participate in quarterly trainings on topics relevant to the youth being mentored.
