Nancy's Friends is a new program at the Weill Cornell Medical Center. The Nancy?s Friends Program is designed to facilitate much needed support for cancer patients and their families. Specially trained volunteers fulfill this distinctive role and are valued members of the care team. Volunteers also support other members of the care team in achieving the goals of care for patients. Requirements
Volunteers must have strong interpersonal skills, excellent listening skills and the desire to work with very sick and/or terminally ill patients. Volunteers should be at least 14 years of age (a very mature 14 years) and be able to commit to volunteering for four hours per week.
