Planning for its twenty-second season, NAACP NYC ACT-SO seeks qualified, reputable, adults who want to make a positive difference in the lives and futures of NYC Black high school students, by being a "coach" (an academic/artistic/professional mentor). Requirements
We seek adults who, in addition to being trustworthy, professional, caring, and willing to make a long-term commitment (6 months), are qualified to serve as role models to Black students (grades 8-12) in the following 25 categories: Architecture, Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics/Electronics, Physics/Energy, Physics/General, Business/Entrepreneurship, Music Composition, Oratory, Original Essay, Playwriting, Poetry, Drawing, Painting, Photography, Sculpture, Filmmaking/Video, Dance, Dramatics, Music Instrumental/Classical, Music Instrumental/Contemporary, Music Vocal/Classical, Music Vocal/Contemporary
