About this volunteer opportunity
Description
Youth Advocates assist in the Family Justice Center's Children's Room Teacher with daily on-site children's programming while parents are attending appointments nearby. Volunteer tasks may include; reading books, age-appropriate game play, supervising educational videos, supervising arts and craft activities and assisting with homework.
Requirements
Volunteers must be over 18 and make a 6-month commitment to the Family Justice Center. Volunteers will complete 12-hours of training and are asked to work one regularly scheduled 4-hour shift per week (Monday - Friday between 9:00AM and 6:00PM). All volunteers will complete fingerprinting/criminal background checks. Youth Advocates should have prior experience working with children.
