Volunteer Snow Removal
About this volunteer opportunity
The City is encouraging New Yorkers to give their blank this winter by helping neighbors in need - especially seniors and those living with disabilities.
This winter season, NYC Service is assisting community-based organizations in mobilizing volunteers to help seniors avoid accidents and ticketing by organizing a comprehensive, last resort snow removal strategy.
Our office will be acting as a referral program, connecting interested volunteers with partnering organizations.
If you are interested in being a Snow Removal partner organization you should be able to:
Design program (1:1 matching vs. team shoveling, season-long matching vs. storm-by-storm deployment, etc.)
Manage day-to-day operations of program
Ensure that seniors are being served throughout season
For partners: We are asking your organization to implement a strategy best fit for your organization to match volunteers to seniors that we have already identified. Please make us aware if you would like to join us in this service.
