Are you interested in issues of food insecurity and food justice?
Hour Children's client-choice food pantry allows eligible New Yorkers to select the fresh produce and packaged, frozen and canned food items they need themselves, free of charge, in a supermarket-style environment.
Volunteers are needed to help stock pantry shelves and to help clients shop for food on distribution days.
Volunteers are also needed to receive and organize shipments during delivery days.
Shift times during distribution are as follows: Monday from 1:45pm to 6:00pm and Thursday from 3:45pm to 7pm.
Shift times during deliveries are Wednesdays from 11am to 4pm.
Spanish and Chinese speakers are highly encouraged to volunteer.
Individual volunteers or small groups of up to four people are welcome - ages 13+ ONLY. Flexible hours available.

Must be able to lift and carry 25 pounds. Enjoys helping people, has patience and flexible. Must also be able to work with a diverse community of people. Completion of a one-hour orientation before start of service.
