Covenant House Faith Community offers the following opportunities for volunteers:
Service: Covenant House gives hope and healing to homeless youth, providing 24/7 crisis care and on-going support for young people in need of a safe haven. Most volunteers serve in our Crisis Centers as Resident Advisors, Youth Advisors, or Case Managers; while others may serve in our Rights of Passage program or other support positions. Everyone receives training for their service placement and have regular scheduled shifts at Covenant House. A year serving at Covenant House is terrific way to get your foot in the door of a major international service provider!
Community: Community living provides the support and encouragement necessary for individuals to face the daily challenges of serving homeless youth with energy and joy. Faith Community volunteers have the opportunity to live in an intentional community, sharing a house with 3-5 other Faith Community volunteers.
All volunteers share household responsibilities and participate in community activities and leadership.
Prayer/Reflection: Prayer/reflection can deepen our understanding of the value of serving others, can give us insight into our personal faith or life journeys, and can be a source of strength for each day. Faith Community volunteers have the opportunity to share time in prayer/reflection together as a community for 30 minutes per day, six days per week. People of all or no faith backgrounds and religious traditions are welcomed and respected.
