Volunteer opportunity description

JCC of Greater Coney Island helps to improve the quality of life of the frail elderly, vocationally disadvantaged poor, underprivileged immigrants and educationally at-risk youth of our City and to provide capacity-building technical assistance to enhance the programmatic, administrative and fiscal capacity of other not-for-profit organizations. Volunteers needed to assist / train homebound seniors in their homes on how to use a user-friendly senior chat website to socialize with other homebound seniors. Use your skills to give a homebound senior the gift of socialization and help them alleviate loneliness. Friendly Visiting is a program that pairs homebound seniors in your community with volunteers to visit on a weekly basis. In addition to visiting, we have created a new online chat group for our seniors to interact. A few of your hours a month can completely change the life of a senior! Volunteers will be trained by organization.
