Volunteer opportunity description
JASA seeks a volunteer to lead a weekly arts and crafts workshop at a Brooklyn senior center. Volunteers should be comfortable leading groups of varying ability through activities, and able to come up with new activities on a weekly basis. Experience working with the elderly is helpful, but not required.
The Jewish Association Serving the Aging (JASA), founded in 1968 by the Federation of Jewish Philanthropies, provides a full range of services for the elderly and their families -- from the most able and independent to the most frail and vulnerable, to enable the elderly to live independent lives in their own homes and communities. Services are provided throughout NYC and in Nassau and Suffolk counties.
