Volunteer opportunity description
Greater & Greener is an amazing four-day international conference taking place in New York City July 14-17, 2012. In order to make this conference run smoothly and effectively, conference organizers are looking for professional and reliable volunteers to help with the conference’s indoor breakout sessions, mobile workshops and tours. Individuals with NY savvy (getting around, knowledge of neighborhoods, etc.) and languages in addition to English are a plus!
Volunteer Opportunities
Tour Assistants: Greater & Greener offers more than 40 weekend tours and mobile workshops over four days. Tour Assistants work in conjunction with the Tour Leader to ensure that participants are comfortable and remain with the larger group. Tour Assistants will move the group to/from the tour/workshop location either by conference bus or mass transit. Tour Assistants also serve as a vital communications link between the tour leader, conferees and conference organizers.
Educational Assistants: Greater & Greener indoor break-out sessions are available for continuing education credits and will require a room host to make known and enforce the requirements of CEU credits. By hosting, you will have the opportunity to listen to panelists and learn about the topic.
Administrative Support (Runners): Monday 7/16 & Tuesday 7/17. Keynote and breakout/plenary sessions all take place at New York University’s Kimmel Center. Runners and floor captains are needed to keep conferees moving as well as provide administrative support (escorting people to rooms, messaging, and people management) on an as-needed basis.
Event Support: We are looking for a limited number of individuals to assist us with registration support services for our opening (7/15) and closing (7/17) receptions and the Special Evening at Brooklyn Bridge Park (7/16).

Requirements
Volunteer Opportunities are tracked in four-hour blocks of time but we encourage you to volunteer more than that (your help and expertise is invaluable). All volunteers (except Tour Leaders) will be required to attend a brief training session prior to the conference. All volunteers must have access to a cell phone (smart-phone preferred) while volunteering.
