Volunteer opportunity description

Volunteer to help Sandy survivors return to safe and healthy homes!  World Cares Center’s mission is to empower communities through disaster response training, support, and coordination.  Build your hands-on and leadership skills by volunteering to gut and remove mold from homes affected by Sandy.  WCC will provide you with the tools, training, and safety gear to make a difference in the lives of Sandy survivors.  We’re hosting a day of service on Saturday, October 26th to complete deconstruction and mold remediation on homes in Staten Island.  Our day begins at 9am and wraps up by 5pm.  Visit our website for more information or register to volunteer!

World Cares Center (WCC), founded in the aftermath of the attacks of September 11, 2001 fosters sustainable, locally led disaster preparedness, response and recovery initiatives within communities worldwide. Throughout its decade of service, WCC has provided assistance to responders, volunteers, and survivors affected by 9/11, and continues to guide all levels within communities to respond effectively and collaboratively in the face of disasters. This "whole of community" inclusive approach leads to a more resilient recovery.
