READ 718 is seeking volunteer literacy tutors. We are looking for dedicated, reliable, caring, positive people who are committed to working with a child twice a week for 10 weeks.
READ 718 is a non-profit literacy center that provides afterschool tutoring and literacy workshops to low-income students in grades 3-8. Tutors will be provided with easy-to-follow lesson plans for each session and will have access to a certified reading specialist for questions and guidance.
Children who are behind in reading after grade 3 and do not receive the targeted instruction that they need simply fall further and further behind. READ 718 aims to provide students with high quality, supplementary instruction to bridge the gap between students who are struggling and their grade level peers.
