Volunteer opportunity description
RSVP (Retired and Senior Volunteer Program) prides ourselves on working closely with individuals 55 and over to find volunteer opportunities that match their skills and interests. One of our many opportunities includes one with the WTC Tribute Center.
If you were affected by September 11th, (survivor of the attack, rescue and recovery worker, area resident, volunteered to help during the recovery or lost a loved one), you are a valuable historian. The Tribute Center is looking for your support as a volunteer guide to lead tours of the World Trade Center site.
The Tribute World Trade Center Visitor Center, located on the south side of the World Trade Center site, offers visitors the remarkable opportunity to understand and appreciate this turning point in history from an eye witness perspective. Since opening its doors in 2006, more than two million people have visited the Tribute World Trade Center Visitor Center, and through walking tours, exhibits and programs, have experienced a "Person to Person History" of 9/11 that is deeply meaningful and moving.
Help tell the story of September 11. Honor the memory of loved ones or a lost community. Become an ambassador to the World Trade Center Site and meet people from around the world.
Tours last about one hour and are offered daily, throughout the day. Time commitment: 4 hours a month, plus a weekend training session. We are located directly across from the WTC site at 120 Liberty Street.
Volunteers will be carefully trained and thoroughly supported. Join a wonderful community of social and welcoming volunteer guides.
