Volunteer opportunity description

MASA-Mexed Inc. is seeking dedicated volunteers to provide tutoring services to elementary- and middle-school students at its South Bronx community center. The community center's after-school program operates on Monday, Tuesdays, and Fridays from 6 PM - 8 PM. At the program, students primarily receive homework help and develop their reading skills, but they also have opportunities to participate in art, music, and other enrichment activities. Weekend one-on-one tutoring opportunities are also available.

Requirements

Ability to work one or more of the following shifts consistently: Monday (6 PM - 8 PM), Tuesday (6 PM - 8 PM), or Friday(6 PM - 8 PM).

Willingness and ability to serve as a tutor/homework facilitator to elementary- and middle-school students, either in an individual or small group setting.

Attend MASA trainings and events.

Provide feedback on student progress and/or concerns to MASA staff.
