Volunteer opportunity description
In the Spirit of the Children is looking for mentors to support the Youth Transition Empowerment Mentoring Program. The program seeks to match young adults, age 18 to 24 who have aged out of the foster care system, with professional mentors. The program is focused on providing youth, who have not yet found a concrete direction and have limited knowledge of various career opportunities, with individuals who actively work in fields of interest.
Requirements
Must have proven experience in a field for 5 years and NYC residency for at least 1 year.
8 hrs. training and will then be meeting with mentees once a month.
Participating mentors will be required to commit to their mentee for no less than 1 year, and should have a genuine interest in interacting with this population.
Criminal background check required.
