Volunteer opportunity description

MASA-Mexed Inc. is seeking dedicated volunteers to provide tutoring services to elementary- and middle-school students at its South Bronx community center. The community center's after-school program operates on Monday, Tuesdays, and Fridays from 6 PM - 8 PM. At the program, students primarily receive homework help and develop their reading skills, but they also have opportunities to participate in art, music, and other enrichment activities.

We are especially interested in finding volunteers to start working with us in Fall 2012!

Weekend one-on-one tutoring opportunities are also available. 

Requirements

Ability to work one or more of the following shifts consistently: Monday (6 PM - 8 PM), Tuesday (6 PM - 8 PM), or Friday (6 PM - 8 PM)

Willingness and ability to serve as a tutor/homework facilitator to elementary- and middle-school students, either in an individual or small group setting

Attend MASA trainings and events

Provide feedback on student progress and/or concerns to MASA staff
