Organization Details
Learning Worlds Institute, (LWI) is a subdivision of The Gertrude Stein Repertory Theatre which is a non-profit dedicated to promoting innovation in the arts through the use of technology.
The Gertrude Stein Theatre was founded in 1996.
Learning Worlds Institute became a dba of the Theatre in 2008 when the organization decided to draw from the experience of both The Gertrude Stein Repertory Theatre and its sister for profit company, Learning Worlds which is a management consultancy. We're concerned about both the environment and social change and wanted to take our experience in both business and the arts and apply them to the needs in these areas.
Over the last year, Learning Worlds Institute has reached out to organizations of all shapes and sizes, including the government to help individuals and organizations document and tell their "Stories of Service".
Taking the lead from the 1930's New Deal and WPA initiatives, we want to tell stories and tell the stories of others through art.
We want to preserve and document these stories for generations to come.
