Description & History

The FDNY Foundation supports events and programs for New Yorkers to become educated in fire and life safety awareness. The Foundation offers programs to many schools, community organizations and other organizations to learn about fire safety through presentations; the Foundation also supports the FDNY FireZone, an adult and child educational learning center located in Rockefeller Center. Through raised funds and numerous partnerships, the Foundation is able to support increased training tools for the FDNY and such programs as an officer management and leadership course with Columbia University and an annual symposium, where firefighters from around the world learn from the FDNY how to stay on the cutting edge of fire prevention and suppression and save more lives.
