Organization Details

Our goal is to create a city-wide Clean Energy Corps that serves as a path out of poverty for generations of young people in New York City, through equipping them with experiences and skills to build a sustainable future for themselves and their community.

Our vision is that one day, all young people will prosper in cities and communities built on principles of economic, social and environmental justice and symbiosis with the natural world. Achieving the Green City requires transforming our built environment and our economy, and changing the way that people relate to nature and to one another. It requires addressing inequities and developing shared principles that recognize our interconnectedness and assert the value of all people and all nature’s resources. We conceive of urban young adults as the essential force for driving the emergence of the Green City, by doing the hard work of transforming their own lives, leading community transformation, becoming productive workers in jobs that are good for them and for the environment, and promoting the values of a new economy.
