Organization Details

Description & History

We support 10 emerging, grass-roots organizations that use innovative ideas and volunteer effort to transform the lives of thousands of young people living in our city?s most impoverished areas. These after-school programs employ activities like art therapy, sports, journalism, and mentoring to provide critical life skills to kids at risk. Each organization we support is selected for its ability to make a big impact on limited funds. Our board of directors fully underwrites the expenses of The Catalog, so that every dollar raised goes directly to the organizations and the kids we serve.

Recognizing that small, community-based nonprofits often lack the wherewithal to tell their story, implement effective fundraising efforts, or connect with donors who can help sustain their operations, founders Sally Berg and Barbara Kronman developed The Catalog for Giving
