Description & History
Dag Hammarskjold Plaza is located on East 47th Street between 1st and 2nd Avenues. Conceived as a Gateway to the United Nations, it is Manhattan's most internationally visible public park. As a volunteer organization that provides most of the park's upkeep, we need volunteers to plant and tend the park's Katharine Hepburn Garden, to assist with events, to help raise funds, and for outreach: newsletter, website, mailings, publicity. Gardeners, writers, graphic designers, artists, carpenters and techies always welcome!
