Description & History

Our other programs include advocating for laws to protect our coasts; sponsoring inexpensive or free nature trips and hikes, educating youngsters on nature and wildlife.

The Jamaica Bay Guardian monitors water quality and wildlife, educates boaters and fishermen and works to reverse marsh loss in Jamaica Bay.

The Northeast Chapter was initiated in 1981 by concerned citizens on the state of our coastline and waterways.

Our executive office in New Jersey was founded in the 1970's to protect our Atlantic coast and waterways.
