Description & History

Doc to Dock was formed as a commitment to the Clinton Global Initiative. Doc to Dock collects two types of medical supplies: non-disposable supplies such as beds, monitors and x-ray machines, and sterile, one time use supplies such as syringes, gauze and surgical gloves. Doc to Dock then recruits volunteers to help sort and pack these sterile, one use supplies in our Brooklyn warehouse. These supplies are then shipped to health posts across Africa. These rescued supplies are not only saving lives in Africa but are also reducing waste domestically. Doc to Dock was formed in 2005 as a commitment to the Clinton Global Initiative. It received its 501(c)(3) status in the beginning of 2006. Since that time Doc to Dock has partnered with a number of organizations to help ship containers to Africa. Doc to Dock is expanding at a rapid rate and ultimately hopes to send up to 60 containers a year.
