Description & History

We are located on Henry Street on the Lower East Side.

We help with the process of naturalization. We assist in procuring benefits (food stamps, SSI, Medicaid, Food Pantry, clothing, etc.), and coordinate heath care referrals.

We also provide an education program, which primarily offers English classes to Speakers of Other Languages.

Our educational program operates from September through June, relying solely on volunteer teachers.

Classes take place Mondays through Thursdays, mornings, afternoons, and early evenings.

Cabrini Immigrant Services has existed since 1999, and continues to grow significantly each year.

Volunteers are a crucial component of the work we do.

Our Education Program's Mission: Cabrini Immigrant Services' Education Program provides the opportunity for immigrants to learn and share cultures by assisting them in the development of fundamental survival skills, such as speaking English, handling personal finances and undergoing American interviews. The program focuses on cultivating student competence and confidence as they acquire a diversity of skills needed to fully participate and experience the many rich resources of American society.
