Description & History
We are dedicated to building a diverse marrow donor registry so patients from all ethnic backgrounds can have a better chance for life. We provide personal, financial and emotional support to people of all ages suffering from life threatening blood illnesses. The Foundation was established in June 1992 as a nonprofit organization. It honors the life of a thirteen-year-old Brazilian girl who passed away after bravely fighting leukemia despite her family, friends and neighbors' tireless efforts to find her a matching donor. Icla's enthusiastic and hopeful last wishes to live and help people with cancer inspired the Foundation's programs and activities.
