Description & History
Founded in 1969 as a community outreach program of the Museum of Modern Art in 1969, The Children?s Art Carnival is one of the oldest arts organizations in Harlem.
The Carnival became its own independent entity in 1972 and has grown into an award winning nationally recognized arts organization providing arts education, vocational training and life long learning experiences in the arts to young people, ages 4-21.
The Carnival realizes its mission through its programs: Arts in Education, After School & Saturday; and Communication Arts Production & Entrepreneurial Training Programs. The Carnival?s programs reach approximately 5,000 youngsters annually.
