Description & History
Founded in 1993 by a group of theatre artists hungry for collaboration and opportunities to produce new work, Abingdon is committed to supporting playwrights in developing their craft and realizing their artistic visions.
We receive and read over 500 scripts annually, develop over 60 scripts in our weekly Reading Series, and produce four to six fully-staged productions each season.
Abingdon believes in providing affordable access to the arts for a large cross-section of the New York City community.
