Description & History

Community Access has 10 permanent and 4 transitional housing sites in Manhattan, Brooklyn and the Bronx--many of which have won awards. We currently provide housing to over 800 people annually.

Our Club Access program offers an extensive range of socialization, career training and employment programs to approximately 500 members. The Club program includes GED and college prep classes, computer instruction, mentoring, one-on-one tutoring, job coaching and job placement.

Club Access also manages The Art Collective-- a studio for artists to develop their portfolio and find professional outlets for their work.

Our Howie the Harp Peer Advocacy Center, open since 1995, prepares mental health consumers for permanent, full-time employment in human service organizations and has become an award-winning, national model.
