Brooklyn Volunteers Aid City's Roof-Painting Initiative

Volunteers in Brooklyn cooled off the city Friday by picking up a paint brush. It’s part of a city initiative to paint the roofs of buildings white to reflect sunlight, saving energy costs. Volunteers painted the roof of television studio Broadway Stages in Greenpoint, bringing the city 15,000 square feet closer to its goal of coating one-million square feet.
