My Service
My Service began only five years ago,
a middle student in Brooklyn,
advocating for doing something worthy and helpful in your free-time.
My Service started small,
as a way to fill a void,
soon it filled my heart with feelings-
That I could do more.
My Service-
I decided, was a way to explore-
Possibly the world
but more importantly who I was to become.
My Service developed in high school,
Seeing the opportunities to serve others around me.
seeing what people my age can do to put a smile
On another’s face.
My Service; I hope
Will inspire others to step out into a world they have yet discovered,
And find something within themselves,
That will be their Service.
This is just the beginning of my service.
