Marquis Jernigan
I enjoy volunteering my time because by doing this I know that my work is coming from my heart. I have worked with the Bowery Mission for two years. While there I helped with their soup kitchen and completed outreach within the community. I have also volunteered at local hospitals, playing with the kids in order to help take their minds off problems they are facing. My experience at the Bowery and other service locations will help me in the future because I now have a greater understanding of the challenges people face in today’s generation. I hope to use this understanding to help people find the resources that the government can provide. I am determined to do this because people can improve their lives for the better if they have the right tools to do so.
