Volunteer opportunity description

The mission of Rescuing Leftover Cuisine is to become the world's most widely used solution for companies and individuals to eliminate food waste in their communities, making food rescue sustainable and universal, and food hunger a thing of the past.

We are looking for passionate and dedicated volunteers to join our leadership team of volunteers as a Lead Rescuer who would commit to weekly food pickups from our partner restaurants and cafes and on-foot deliveries to those who need it the most! We have volunteer events available every single day, all lasting less than an hour. Our food rescue events range from morning to late-night.

Lead Rescuers are the faces of our organization. After short training, they interact with volunteers, engage the homeless shelters, and form relationships with partner food providers. They will learn about food waste and hunger in their communities, as well as the many ways to solve these issues. Lead Rescuers lead events every week depending on their schedule. Please consider becoming a Lead Rescuer and help us leave only hunger behind!


Lead Rescuers commit to one event, once a week. Training at our Lead Rescuer Orientation, or one-on-one, is required for this position. Lead Rescuers under the age of 18 need to submit a signed parental/legal guardian consent form.
