Volunteer opportunity description

The ideal candidate will have a background in compliance and auditing, as well as a professional certification, such as Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) and/or Certified Public Accountant (CPA).

This position will work with the Acting Director of Finance and Administration and the Manager for Institutional Giving and Evaluation.

Hours: 14 hours per week (flexible)


* On an ongoing basis make recommendations on how to improve internal controls and compliance processes.

* Assist in contracts and grants tracking and management.

* On a monthly basis, assist in preparation of reports to the board.

* Perform other duties appropriate for this position as assigned.


Skills, Knowledge, and Experience:

  • Proves compliance and audit experience, preferably ay a nonprofit or government entity.
  • Advanced computer skills on MS Office, accounting software and databases
  • Ability to manipulate large amounts of data and compile detailed reports
  • Proven knowledge of auditing standards and procedures, laws, rules, and regulations.
  • High attention to detail and excellent analytical skills.
  • Sound independent judgment.
  • *BS degree required in Accounting.
