Volunteer opportunity description
America On Tech (AOT) is currently recruiting volunteer tech instructors who can help teach our students about web development and web design throughout spring 2020 (January – April). Tech instructors are typically web developers and/or software engineers who have knowledge of HTML, CSS, and Javascript and want to teach high school students who are enrolled in our semester-long and year-long programs: TECH360 and Tech Flex Leaders.

Requirements
Technical instructor volunteer commitments include:
- Participating in one volunteer orientation. The next orientations will be held in December and January.
- Volunteering to teach high school students our technical curriculum at least twice per month (more dates/times are appreciated if a volunteer is interested)
- Being available to volunteer on one of the following days and times of the week: Monday-Thursday, 4:00-6:30; Saturday 12:00-3:00
- Submitting 1 teacher exit ticket after each volunteer session
- Participating in the America On Tech’s End of Year Graduation (May 2020)
Technical instructor volunteer should:
- Have experience using HTML, CSS, Javascript, Bootstrap and APIs in a professional capacity
- Be open to partnering with a fellow instructor to teach sessions throughout the year
- Have experience working in teams and being comfortable with public speaking is a PLUS.
- Mentoring/teaching high school students is a PLUS!
