Volunteer opportunity description

The FDNY has teamed up with the FDNY Foundation and NYC Service to offer a customized, hands-only VIRTUAL CPR training program aimed at educating New Yorkers. The FDNY CPR Program helps prepare participants to act as citizen responders, stepping in and helping to save a life in response to cardiac arrest. The program also promotes cardiovascular health and ways to live a heart-healthy lifestyle..

Requirements

Program participants are provided with:

  • Virtual Skill demonstrations and hands-on practice for performing hands-only CPR
  • Basic instruction on how to use an automated external defibrillator (AED)
  • Additional information for identifying a person in need of CPR and other resources
  • Trainings are conducted on the WebEx platform
