Volunteer opportunity description

Responsibilities:

  • Pre-inspect truck to ensure safety and security of driving, loading, and unloading processes
  • Follow instructions; locate and read location on road maps
  • Pickup goods and materials, verify loads for accuracy, and deliver them as instructed
  • Load and unload cargo to our customers in a safe, courteous, and timely manner
  • Responsible for basic vehicle maintenance; comply with all safe work practices, policies, and processes at all times
  • Maintains delivery logs and records
  • Establishes outstanding relations with customer

Requirements

 Work Hours:

Delivery drivers will typically work up to 6 hours/day once a week on a large donation pickup/drop-off.

Qualifications/Skills:

  • Must source his own truck
  • Excellent communications and organizational skills
  • Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to delegate tasks to teammates well
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Reliable and responsible; particularly with time management
  • Forklift experience preferred
  • Ability to lift 60 pounds repeatedly throughout the day
  • Licensed and insured to drive their vehicle

Education/Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • CDL -- Class A, Class B, or Class C required
  • Certification from an accredited CDL driving school
  • 26 years or older
  • Resume a plus
