Remote Homework Helper

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF HOMEWORK HELPER: 
Homework Helpers will support students in grades 4 - 8 in improving their understanding of challenging aspects of homework assignments. Homework Helpers will be part of a team scheduled to cover subject-specific rooms via Zoom between 5:30 and 7:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, and demonstrate relevant skills and techniques that empower students to gain a higher level of proficiency in Math, Science, English Language Arts, and Social Studies. The position will oversee and support students in respective breakout groups, work in collaboration with the Program Monitor and report directly to Program Director.  

• At least 16 years of age 

• Apt to teach

• Academically inclined

• Strong interpersonal skills

• Works well with children and adolescence 

• Problem Solver 

• Detail orientated

• Excellent recordkeeping 

• Independent access to a computer, internet, and web camera

• Proficient in the use of the internet, and sending emails

• Punctual 

•  Savvy with hosting Zoom meetings and managing breakout sessions 

• Ability  to log in from a quiet space
