Volunteer opportunity description

Carter Burden Network promotes the well-being of seniors 60 and older through a continuum of services, advocacy, arts and culture, health and wellness and volunteer programs, all oriented to individual, family and community needs. We are dedicated to supporting the efforts of older people to live safely and with dignity.

Volunteers are an integral component of the Carter Burden Network's 40+ years of success.

We are looking for compassionate, patient, and committed individuals to help seniors grocery shop!! Volunteers may help make grocery lists, shop at the supermarket and deliver groceries to seniors who are homebound and living in the Upper East Side and East Harlem neighborhoods. This is a great way to get to know a senior and it also serves the crucial function of ensuring that seniors have food in their homes. This fun and fulfilling program asks that volunteers assist seniors at least once a month or as often as the senior requests.
