Volunteer opportunity description

Project Redirect is an alternative sentencing program for gang defendant participants and serves young adult males ages 14 - 22. Our goal is to reduce recidivism and enhance community safety, while providing a cost effective alternative to incarceration.

The program includes:

  • Mandatory supervised weekly group meetings with staff in the Gang Bureau
  • Life skills and anger management group sessions
  • Mandatory random drug testing
  • Substance abuse counseling when necessary
  • Nightly curfew checks
  • Community Service
  • Required completion of High School or GED
  • Either employment or higher education

We are seeking a Career Services Assistant Coordinator to:

  • Facilitate resume and cover letter workshops; teach and edit various formats of resumes and cover letters for different fields
  • Promote career awareness, exploration, and planning
  • Create professional development activities
  • Research potential career (job and internship)opportunities
  • Create and maintain communication with various job agencies

Requirements

Be at least 20 years of age
