Volunteer opportunity description

Stuyvesant Cove Park is an all native, organically managed park on the East River in Manhattan.  We were badly damaged during Hurricane Sandy's storm surge, and cleanup continues.  We need help, beyond what our regular staff and volunteers are able to offer, with weeding, mulching and planting projects.  Volunteer events will be held most Wednesdays, starting 5/29 and continuing through June (except 6/19), from 1pm to 4pm.  If you'd like to volunteer please RSVP to  We will provide gloves and tools.  We meet at the Solar One building, which is located right on the East River just south of the gas station at the end of 23rd st.  I hope to see you there!


Must be physically able to do semi- strenuous gardening work such as weeding and mulching.  Must be 15 years old or older.  Please wear weather appropriate clothes that you don't mind getting dirty and closed toe shoes.
