Volunteer opportunity description

The Peace Advocacy Network (PAN) Vegan Pledge is coming to Brooklyn starting Saturday, October 19! The PAN Vegan Pledge program guides people through 30 days of being vegan with the program's hands-on support. This support includes five weekly meetings consisting of cooking demonstrations, speakers addressing environmental, ethical, health, and practical issues, a personal mentor (experienced vegan), optional social events for even more support, and an incredible care package to make 30 days of being vegan that much easier.

Volunteers are needed to help make all of this happen! We need help spreading the word about the program and working on other preliminary activities as well as people to help at one or more of the five meetings. Experienced vegans are needed to serve as mentors for the program.

Mentors are expected to come to the first meeting and electronically reach out to their assigned pledge(s) once a week to inquire how they are doing. The first meeting is Saturday, October 19 from 11 am to 1 pm at The Brooklyn Meeting of the Religious Society of Friends, 110 Schermerhorn St, Brooklyn, NY 11201. All meetings at at this time and place for five Saturdays.

All volunteers must be vegan.

Mentors must be vegan for at least one year.

All volunteers must register at goveganwithus.org
