Volunteer opportunity description

The Special Projects Intern will play a vital role working with the Executive Director and other staff under various programs. Vita Center’s community work currently runs the following programs: Early Childhood Education Program, Immigrant Services Program, Social Services Program, Women’s Safe Program, Entrepreneurship Program, and Workforce Development Program. Through this role, the Special Projects Intern will focus on areas focused on administrative duties, and they will also learn valuable skills as project management, organization, data entry, and social media skills. 

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provides assistance with office tasks as assigned by Executive Director
  • General administrative support such as filing and organizing documents, responding to emails, answering phone calls, and scheduling classes.
  • Schedule and coordinate appointments
  • Prepares materials, packets, and presentations for class meetings
  • Manages social media accounts, and drafting monthly newsletters.
  • Updates website with class schedules, and program updates.
  • Helps coordinate events alongside team members.


  • Associates or Bachelor’s Degree
  • Ability to multi-task and finish tasks in a timely manner
  • Comfortable working in a small team environment
  • A self-starter attitude, with ability to work independently

Length of Commitment: Minimum 3 month commitment required starting immediately

Position Requirements:

  • Prior experience using Google Docs, Google Drive, Microsoft Office, and Max OSx
  • Two or more years of administrative experience in an office environment
