Description & History

The Oliver Program ( is an organization that places talented youth of color from NYC into the top independent schools of the Northeast.

We are seeking mentors for the entering freshman class.

The commitment lasts one year and requires a minimum amount of 4-6 hours communication (e-mail, phone, in person) per month.

Mentors are on a career track in the professional community who offer personal and academic advice to high achieving youth.

Matches are made by mentor coordinator, and relationship is determined within a contract developed by each individual match.

Interested parties fill out two applications, go through a fingerprinting screening and interview, and are trained by the Oliver Mentor Coordinator.
