Description & History

CFY-New York City partners with NYC low-income public middle schools, through our Digital Learning program, to offer a free computer-based home learning center to every sixth grade student and their family. We load the computers with Microsoft Office, Windows XP, and over 50 educational software games designed to engage children in Math, English, Social Studies and Science, as well as free technical support for the life of the computer.

Both students and their parents are required to attend a half day of training called a Family Learning Workshop that teaches them how to use their home learning center, and how to do so together as a family.
